Perlubie

We caught a great sunrise on top of Turtle Rock which we were camped beside, but then packed up quickly to escape the strong Northerly that had been blustering us all night. But after a roadside brekkie we braved the wind to ascend our final rock, Wuddina Rock before we hit the road for Streaky Bay.

It was still blowing a gale when we reached the coast, so I took the opportunity to hide out at the visitor center and get a couple of hours of work in, while Matthias and the kids braved the beach and playgrounds.

20 minutes up the coast from Streaky is Perlubie where we took the easy option and camped back from the beach in the carpark. But rather than admit to being wimpy, we can tell ourselves we did it for the privacy because the beach was lined with about 10 other rigs (all bigger and heavier than ours). Though apparently 10 is considered quiet for Perlubie.

We encountered our first family of other young kids, who were super excited at the arrival of two new friends. 5 year old Blaze rushed over to introduce himself within minutes of our arrival, making our social butterfly Hugh look relatively retiring.

We've treated ourselves to two nights here, me catching up on some work and Matthias catching up on the laundry! I jest. We were both excited to use our new "Scrubba" laundry bag which is effectively a fancy plastic bag for hand washing clothes.
